Abhijit Shanbhag

Abhijit Shanbhag is the President and CEO of the Singapore headquartered Graymatics, a cognitive multimedia processing company renowned for its transformational technologies and their relevance to today’s urban and business safety landscape. Abhijit is a self-driven entrepreneur who launched Graymatics with a vision to leverage technology to improve the world. His leadership and the transformational capabilities of Graymatics solutions have helped the company witness a surge in demand for services such as smartphone apps, surveillance, and social media insights. Abhijit aims to make Graymatics a highly scalable platform that can collect actionable data from videos and images using the power of analytics similar to the way insights are generated from text. The vastly experienced tech-expert started his entrepreneurial journey in the year 2001, when he founded Scintera Networks, another Silicon Valley venture manufacturing semiconductors. Under his leadership and vision, Scintera developed the industry’s first programmable RF signal processor, the lowest power multi-Gigabitsignal processor in industry. Prior to Scintera, Abhijit held key technical and management roles at Qualcomm, Ericsson and Morphics. Abhijit was the first awardee of the Global Executive Entrepreneur investment and a recipient of Rising Star Innovator award from Singapore’s Prime Minister’s Office (National Research Foundation). He has a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from IIT Mumbai and a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California.
